About this trip
Three days out of the city and into Egypt's Western Desert, where the scenery does most of the talking. You start in Bahariya Oasis before pushing on to the White and Black Deserts, a stretch of Egypt that looks nothing like the Nile valley or the coast.
Expect chalk-white rock formations, black volcanic hills, and a night sky with none of the light pollution you get elsewhere. It's slow-paced and scenic rather than adrenaline-heavy, with time built in for springs, valleys, and just sitting with the landscape.
This runs as a private, fully guided trip, so it suits families or small groups wanting their own pace rather than joining a fixed departure.
What you'll do
- Wander the date gardens and Salty Lake of Bahariya Oasis
- Climb English Mountain for views over the oasis
- Cross the Black Desert and El-Marssos Mountain
- Bathe in the cold springs of El-Hez Village
- See Crystal Mountain and Agabat Valley
- Walk among the limestone formations of the White Desert
- Private and fully guided, so timings can flex to suit your group
- Relaxed pace overall, built around scenery and stops rather than constant activity
- Desert nights get cold, so pack layers even if days are warm
