About this trip
Eight days across Tanzania's Northern Circuit, covering the four parks most people come for: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. You travel in a custom 4WD safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, in a small group of up to six, so everyone gets a window seat.
Beyond the parks, the trip adds a day with the Chagga community near Materuni, hiking to the waterfall and touring a coffee plantation to see how it's grown and processed.
Accommodation, meals, park entry fees and government taxes are all included, and you'll have an English-speaking guide throughout who knows the parks and their wildlife well.
What you'll do
- Game drive through Tarangire National Park
- Track wildlife across the Serengeti plains
- Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing
- Spot flamingos and tree-climbing lions at Lake Manyara
- Hike to Materuni Waterfall in the Chagga highlands
- Tour a coffee plantation and learn Chagga coffee-growing traditions
- Small group of up to 6 travellers per vehicle, all with window seats
- Accommodation, meals, park fees and taxes are included
- A mix of long game-drive days and one cultural day, so the pace shifts partway through the trip
Worth it if you want reliably excellent guides and genuine Big 5 sightings across iconic parks. Think twice if you need flexibility—the itinerary is fixed and long days in vehicles are non-negotiable.
- Guides consistently named (Yusuph, Swaleh, Bonnie, Bright, Simon, Mathias) are genuinely knowledgeable, passionate about wildlife and culture, and actively work to get you Big 5 sightings.
- Serengeti Safari Lodge and Ikoma Wild Camp deliver on comfort: quality service, good food, and amenities in remote locations. Accommodation choices are clearly vetted.
- Itinerary is set (Lake Manyara, 5 days Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Materuni, cultural visits). Expect 8 solid days of early starts, long vehicle hours, and zero flexibility in route or pace.
- Ground operator Tanzania Wildlife Adventures handles logistics seamlessly: flights, transfers, bookings, communication all flagged as stress-free and reliable across multiple reviews.
