Hiking & Kayak on Vancouver Island

Seven days on Vancouver Island's west coast, mixing guided day hikes with a kayak trip and a night of wild camping on the beach. You're based outdoors for most of it — tents, campfires, the sound of the sea.

The hiking ranges from easy beach walks to a demanding full-day alpine trek, taking in rainforest, wildflower meadows, alpine lakes, glaciers and waterfalls along the way. A guide who knows the terrain and local flora, fauna and history leads throughout.

The centrepiece is a paddle out to Vargas Island, where you camp overnight on the beach before heading back.
