About this trip
A seven-day small-ship cruise around the southern Galapagos islands aboard the M/Y Grand Queen Beatriz, with a different island and a different view each morning.
Expect close encounters with wildlife that has little fear of people — giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies, sea lions — alongside snorkelling, hikes over volcanic and cactus-strewn terrain, and time on the water between landings.
This is an active, hands-on way to see the islands rather than a floating hotel — you're climbing in and out of Zodiacs, navigating steep steps between decks, and going ashore in all conditions.
What you'll do
- Meet giant tortoises on Isla San Cristobal
- Watch blue-footed boobies court on their mating grounds
- Sail past the volcanic cone of Punta Pitt
- Swim with sea lions at Bahia Gardner
- Hike among prickly pear cacti on Isla Santa Fe
- Wet and dry landings by Zodiac (panga) are part of daily life, so you'll need to be comfortable climbing in and out of small boats
- The ship's decks are connected by steep steps, and seas can get choppy, so reasonable mobility and sea legs help
- Itinerary can shift at short notice due to weather or local authority guidance, so flexibility is part of the deal
