About this trip
A three-day base at a surf house just outside San Sebastian, built around daily surf sessions and all meals sorted so you can focus on the waves and the company.
Mornings start with a cooked breakfast before instructors take the group down to a local beach break — beginners get taught from scratch, and stronger surfers get pointed to the better sets. Afternoons are open for a second surf, a walk through Basque country, or just the first beer of the day.
Evenings lean into San Sebastian's bar scene and pintxo culture, with plenty of scope for a proper night out. It's a social, shared-room setup that suits people happy to mix with a mostly international group of strangers-turned-friends.
What you'll do
- Daily guided surf sessions at a local beach break, split by ability
- All meals included, cooked and served at the surf house
- Optional pintxo tour through San Sebastian's old town
- Free time for cliff-jumping, hiking or exploring the Basque coast
- Bar-hopping nights out, with an unlimited drinks add-on available
- Shared rooms in a group house just outside San Sebastian, not central
- Surf instruction is included but this is as much a social/party trip as a surf camp
- Free transfers run from Zarautz train station at set times — worth confirming in advance

- Instructors genuinely patient; multiple first-time surfers caught waves successfully on their first go.
- Staff so accommodating that people routinely extend stays; one guest returned three times in one trip.
- Strong group dynamic with pintxos, sidra, and town nights built in; excellent for solo travellers meeting people.
- Heavily social, party-focused atmosphere; not suited to those wanting solitude or a low-key retreat.
