Walking the Rugged Pyrenees of Andorra

Eight days of walking in Andorra, based in two villages that put you right among the high Pyrenees rather than passing through them. This is self-guided walking, so you set your own pace each day while following routes chosen for their views and variety.

You start in Encamp, a parish on the Valira d'Orient river with good bus connections, then move to El Serrat for a second stretch of walking that pushes higher into proper mountain terrain. Expect isolated refuges, medieval villages, high passes and a landscape scattered with lakes.

The walking here is serious — steep ascents, big altitude, and paths that reward a decent level of fitness. It suits someone who wants Pyrenean scenery without a guide leading every step.
