Walking in the Pyrenees

Barcelona → Vall d'Incles 8 days Up to 16

About this trip

Eight days of walking through Andorra's stretch of the Pyrenees, an area that gets far fewer visitors than the better-known French or Spanish trailheads. You base yourself in the alpine village of Soldeu for the whole trip, heading out each day into a different valley or nature reserve rather than packing and moving on.

Expect protected landscapes rather than crowds: glacial valleys, high meadows and a botanical reserve with hundreds of plant species. It is a fully guided group trip with your own private room each night, so you get company on the trail and a proper bed to recover in.

What you'll do

  • Walk through the Sorteny Nature Reserve, home to over 700 plant species
  • Explore the Vall de Riu and Incles Valley in the Andorran mountains
  • Trek into the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage glacial landscape
  • Stay in a traditional hotel in the alpine village of Soldeu for the full eight days
Good to know
  • Single base in Soldeu, so no packing up and moving hotels each night
  • Suited to those who want proper walking days followed by a fixed, comfortable base
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you're moderately fit and want seamless mountain walking with excellent guides. Think twice if you need crystal-clear airport logistics.

  • Guides Lucas and Michael were exceptional, looking after everyone well throughout the week.
  • Incles Valley and Siscaro Lakes walk stands out as particularly stunning, with refreshing lake swims possible.
  • Airport pickup instructions were confusing; rep had no visible sign, causing 30-minute terminal confusion for multiple people.
  • Day 1 walk runs close to a road; most other walks through upland meadows offer genuine mountain scenery.
