China Adventure

Hong Kong → Beijing 17 days Up to 16

About this trip

Seventeen days across China, starting in neon-lit Hong Kong and finishing in historical Beijing, with plenty of ground covered in between. Expect a mix of big-city energy, ancient sites, and quieter cultural traditions that don't usually make it onto shorter trips.

You'll try Chongqing's famous hot pot, ride the world's tallest outdoor elevator for views over Zhangjiajie's Avatar Mountains, and stand before the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an. There's also a Great Wall hike at sunset and a stop to learn about Nvshu, the traditional script once used only by women.

This is a trip that leans into contrast — modern skylines one week, centuries-old customs the next — and covers real distance to do it.

What you'll do

Good to know
  • Includes a couple of long travel days on bullet trains, and you'll need to manage your own luggage through busy stations
  • Popular sites draw big crowds, so bring patience and comfortable shoes for queues
  • Hong Kong time is short on this itinerary — worth arriving a few days early if you want to explore the city properly
