About this trip
A short overland journey linking Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, following old trade routes from the Darvaza desert through to the capital, Ashgabat.
Four days is enough to take in the shift from open desert to the marble and gold of Ashgabat's buildings, with a guide handling the border crossing and logistics throughout.
Suited to those curious about a part of Central Asia that's rarely visited, travelling privately rather than in a big group.
