About this trip

Ten days covering three of Brazil's biggest draws: Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon rainforest, and Iguazu Falls. You get three nights in Rio, two nights at a jungle lodge deep in the Amazon, and time at the falls from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides.

The pace is easy rather than rushed, with domestic flights linking each stage so you're not spending days overland. Rio is covered with a guided city tour, the Amazon stretch is built around lodge-based jungle activities, and Iguazu is a dedicated excursion to the falls themselves.

It's a well-rounded, partially guided introduction to Brazil rather than a deep dive into any one region — good if you want the country's headline sights in one trip without planning the logistics yourself.

What you'll do

  • Guided Rio city tour taking in Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain and other landmarks, with lunch included
  • Free time to explore Rio's beaches and culture beyond the guided tour
  • Fly to Manaus, gateway to the Amazon rainforest
  • Two nights at a jungle lodge with guided jungle activities and meals included
  • Excursion to Iguazu Falls covering both the Brazilian and Argentine sides
Good to know
  • Domestic flights link each stage, so travel days are kept short
  • Easy-paced trip suited to families as well as groups
  • Partially guided — some days are structured tours, others left free

  2. After breakfast, explore Rio's main sights with a guide. Visit Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado for city views, then take the cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain over Guanabara Bay. You'll also see cultural landmarks including Escadaria Selarón and the Sambadrome Marquês de S, with lunch included.

  3. The day is yours to spend as you like. Head to Copacabana or Ipanema Beach, walk the promenade, or explore Rio's shops and cafés at a slower pace. Return to your hotel in the evening.

  4. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus, the gateway to the Amazon. Once there, check into your hotel and use the rest of the day to rest or explore the city at your own pace.

  5. Amazon Rainforest Lodge & Jungle Adventure — Amazon Jungle Palace

From Manaus, speedboat across the Rio Negro to Cacau Pirera, then drive to Paricatuba village and canoe into the rainforest to reach your lodge. After lunch, join a canoe excursion to try piranha fishing in narrow creeks, then go out on a nocturnal wildlife trip in the evening.

  6. Walk through the rainforest with a guide, learning about local flora, medicinal plants and wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch, then swim in the Rio Negro's distinctive tea-coloured waters. Finish with dinner back at the lodge.

  7. Have breakfast at the lodge surrounded by rainforest sounds. After lunch and some downtime, canoe and drive back through the rainforest to Manaus, arriving late afternoon. The evening is free to explore the city or rest at your hotel.

  8. Fly from Manaus to Foz do Iguaçu — Manaus

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing or exploring the area on your own terms.

  9. Visit Iguazu Falls from both sides today. Start at Iguazú National Park in Argentina with walking trails and the spectacular Devil's Throat reached via a panoramic walkway. Cross into Brazil for Iguaçu National Park's scenic trails, spotting coatis and catching views of multiple cascades.
