Bangkok → Phuket 15 days Up to 16

About this trip

A 15-day route from Bangkok down to Phuket, built around a mix of guided highlights and plenty of free time to explore on your own terms.

You'll trek through the hills outside Chiang Mai to hilltribe villages, kayak through the surrounding scenery, and head into Khao Sok National Park for a taste of jungle safari and time by the water.

The trip winds up in Phuket, with space along the way for beach time, local nightlife, and whatever else catches your eye — snorkelling, swimming or ziplining are all options when you're not on a scheduled activity.

What you'll do

  • Wander Bangkok's night markets and bars
  • Trek two days through hills near Chiang Mai to hilltribe villages
  • Kayak through the countryside around the villages
  • Look out for elephants and waterfalls along the way
  • Safari through the jungle of Khao Sok National Park
  • Free time in Phuket to snorkel, swim or zipline before a final sunset
Good to know
  • The two-day hillside trek is physically demanding — you'll need an overnight pack, sturdy shoes, and should expect muddy paths if travelling in the wet season (May to October)
  • Three overnight trains are included; conditions are basic and you may share a compartment with strangers, so bring a lock for your luggage
  • Plenty of free time is built in, so this suits people who like drawing on a local leader's knowledge but also want space to explore independently
