About this trip

A month-long overland journey through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and beyond, covering serious ground in a purpose-built vehicle with a small group and a local crew.

You'll move through desert landscapes, national parks and river systems, from Cape Town to the Okavango Delta to Victoria Falls, with game drives in Kruger and Etosha along the way.

This is proper overland travel — camping most nights, pitching your own tent, and some time spent in remote areas with no facilities. It's hands-on and unpolished, but built for getting close to the wildlife and landscapes without a fixed itinerary dictating every hour.

Good to know
  • Overland style — you travel in a group vehicle and set up your own tent most nights (unless on an Original or Comfort version of this trip)
  • Expect early starts, since wildlife is most active around sunrise
  • Some nights are spent in remote bush locations with no facilities
