Essential Japan(Private Guide & Driver)- Umetravel

Tokyo → Osaka 7 days Up to 10

About this trip

A private, guided route through Japan's classic circuit, from Tokyo down to Osaka by bullet train, with your own guide and driver handling the logistics.

You start in Tokyo, taking in its neighbourhoods, temples and modern side, then move on to Kyoto for its temples, bamboo groves and geisha districts. From there it's Hiroshima and the Peace Memorial Park, a ferry across to Miyajima for the Itsukushima Shrine, and finally Osaka for nightlife and street food.

With accommodation, tickets, bullet train travel, meals and transport included alongside your guide, it's a fairly hands-off way to cover a lot of Japan's highlights in a week.

What you'll do

  • Explore Tokyo's neighbourhoods and historic temples
  • Wander Kyoto's bamboo groves and geisha districts
  • Visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum in Hiroshima
  • Ferry to Miyajima Island to see the floating torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine
  • Sample Osaka's street food and nightlife
  • Travel between cities by bullet train
Good to know
  • Private guide and driver throughout, so it's partially guided rather than a group experience
  • Fast-paced — five destinations covered in 7 days
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want a stress-free, well-organized Japan intro with a solid guide. Think twice if you're inflexible about hitting every single listed site on tight timings.

  • Guide was knowledgeable, approachable, and kept the pace comfortable without rushing.
  • All logistics—transfers, hotels, activities—handled seamlessly; you never worry about navigation.
  • Itinerary didn't account for traffic and queuing; guides had to skip some listed sites daily.
  • Hits major highlights like Tokyo Tower and Shibuya temples, but as a curated intro, not exhaustive.
