About this trip
Eleven days moving through Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan along the old Silk Road, from the blue-tiled mosques and madrasas of Samarkand and Bukhara to the mudbrick old town of Khiva.
From there you head into Turkmenistan, out across the Karakum desert to see the Darvaza Gas Crater burning in the dark.
