About this trip
Seven days circling Tasmania, taking in the island's nature and history without rushing through it as a day-trip highlight reel.
You'll travel in a small group, moving from Cradle Mountain across to the wild West Coast, down through the Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay, and on to the Tasman Peninsula, with several of Tasmania's Great Short Walks worked into the route.
It's a fully guided tour, so the driving and logistics are handled — you're there for the landscapes and wildlife.
What you'll do
- Explore Cradle Mountain National Park
- Walk sections of the Bay of Fires coastline
- Take in the views at Wineglass Bay
- Travel Tasmania's wild West Coast
- Visit the Tasman Peninsula
- Complete several of Tasmania's Great Short Walks
- Starts and finishes in Hobart, with early starts (7.00am departure)
- Small group format throughout
- Expect a mix of walking and scenic driving each day
Worth it if you're fit, group-oriented, and want to see Tasmania fast with passionate guides. Think twice if you value silence, slow travel, privacy, or comfort over coverage.
- Guide quality makes or breaks it—Keygan, Brendon, and Lynna consistently lifted groups with genuine local passion and knowledge.
- Hiking daily with minimal breaks; 3-hour Cradle Mountain climb with rushed eating. Not for those wanting leisure or fitness concerns.
- Van capacity breached: 19-24 people crammed into vehicles designed for fewer, weak AC, fogged windows. Comfort sacrificed for cost.
- Budget your own food from supermarkets; hotels remote from restaurants. Accommodation occasionally poorly positioned (Strahan far from facilities).
