Cycling coastal Vietnam 9 days/

Nine days cycling Vietnam's central coast from Ho Chi Minh City up to Hoi An, riding through a stretch of the country most visitors never see by bike. Expect a mix of coastal roads, quiet backroads through rural villages, and some proper climbs.

You'll pass rice paddies, fishing villages, and a string of bays and beaches — Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Van Phong, Dai Lanh — with wild dunes and rocky headlands breaking up the shoreline. A rest day partway through on Mun or Tam Island gives you a chance to snorkel and recover before the final push north.

The route finishes in Hoi An's old town, with its lantern-lit streets and UNESCO status, a fitting contrast after days of open road and rural scenery.

What you'll do

• Cycle the coastal road from Lagi Town through Mui Ne's sand dunes
• Climb to Khe Ga Lighthouse and Its Beach
• Ride past the Marble Mountains and their cave-riddled rock formations
• Pedal through rice paddies and rural villages to see farming methods largely unchanged over generations
• Rest and snorkel on Mun or Tam Island midway through the trip
• End in Hoi An Ancient Town, exploring its lantern-lit streets and markets
