About this trip
This is a three-day overland journey from Marrakech to Fes, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and heading out along old caravan routes to the edge of the Sahara at Merzouga.
You spend a night in the desert, with clear skies for stargazing before continuing north through the Middle Atlas.
It ends in Fes, one of Morocco's imperial cities, making it a good option if you want to see the desert and both cities without doubling back.
