About this trip
This is an overland journey down the south-west coast of Africa, travelling from Namibia into South Africa and finishing in Cape Town over 11 days.
It's a group trip built around Namibia's landscapes and wildlife, moving through the region at a steady pace with accommodation arranged along the way rather than independent travel.
Good for anyone who wants to see this corner of southern Africa without planning the logistics themselves, travelling alongside others doing the same route.
What you'll do
- Travel overland from Namibia through to Cape Town
- Take in southern Africa's coastal and desert landscapes
- Spot wildlife in Namibia's nature reserves
- Group travel with accommodation organised each night
- This is a long overland route covering two countries, so expect real travel time between stops
- Group trip — you'll be moving and staying with the same set of travellers throughout
Cheapest live departure per day, in £, recorded by our tracker since 16 Jul. Never a brochure “was” price.
Worth it if you value exceptional guides and wildlife-rich landscapes. Think twice if you dislike long driving days and need constant structured activities.
- Guide quality is genuinely exceptional—Moyenda, Phillele, Crispen, Liz, Elton all earn specific praise for warmth, patience, local knowledge.
- Etosha National Park delivers incredible wildlife viewing; desert landscapes and sights genuinely exceed expectations for most travellers.
- Some days have no structured activities; long driving distances between destinations mean downtime that needs filling yourself.
- Heat and dust in the desert become intense—manageable but worth knowing beforehand; optional activities like Sandwich Harbour Tour highly recommended.
