About this trip
Nine days through southern Africa by overland truck, moving between the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls. It's a trip built around wilderness camping and time outdoors, not comfort.
You'll glide across the Delta's waterways in a mokoro canoe, meet San communities in the Kalahari, and watch elephants move through Chobe before finishing at the spray of Victoria Falls.
Travel between stops is aboard the group's own overland vehicle, so the days on the road are part of the experience, not just transit.
What you'll do
- Paddle a mokoro canoe through the Okavango Delta
- Meet San people of the Kalahari Desert
- Spot elephants and other wildlife in Chobe National Park
- Feel the mist at Victoria Falls
- Camp in the wilderness through southern Africa
- Travel overland aboard the group's own adventure vehicle
- Wilderness camping throughout, so expect a basic, hands-on setup rather than lodges
- Days involve long stretches of overland travel between stops
- Suits travellers happy to rough it a bit for access to remote areas
Worth it if you want reliable organisation, cracking guides, and genuine wildlife spotting. Think twice if you're sensitive to long bus days between destinations.
- CEOs (camp managers) consistently praised for excellent food, attentiveness, and caring for sick group members throughout.
- Guides named Vitalis, Judah, and Lando delivered engaging, knowledgeable experiences that exceeded traveller expectations.
- Expect substantial time on buses between locations; routes A to B are long, so not ideal if you dislike travel days.
- Bring your own padlock for campsites; belongings should be secured despite overall safe, clean accommodation standards.
