About this trip
This tour takes you across some of Madagascar's classic overland routes, from highland craft towns to rainforest national parks and finally the coast. It's a trip built around variety — culture, wildlife and beach all get their turn.
You'll stop in Ambositra to see marquetry and woodwork made by local craftspeople, then move on to Ambalavao, known for Antemoro papermaking, silk weaving, and its zebu and tobacco trade. Ranomafana National Park brings a change of pace with rainforest trails and a good chance of spotting bamboo lemurs.
The 10 days end at Ifaty, a lagoon on the Mozambique Channel, giving you a few days to slow down after the road time inland.
