About this trip
This is an overland journey across Tibet, taking in Lhasa's monasteries and monuments before heading out toward Everest country. It's built for travellers keen to see a part of the world that stayed closed off for a long time, and still feels remote.
You'll spend time in Lhasa exploring the Potala Palace, once home to the Dalai Lama, along with Drepung Monastery and the Barkhor market area, before continuing overland through Gyantse and on to Tashilhunpo Monastery. Along the way there are open views of the high Himalaya, including Everest itself.
It's a partially guided trip, so you'll have a local guide for the key sites while covering ground overland between them.
