About this trip
Seven days in the High Atlas, built around the summit of Mount Toubkal at 4,167 metres and a full loop through valleys most trekkers never reach. This isn't just a there-and-back climb — it's a circuit, so you keep moving through new ground rather than retracing your steps.
From Marrakech you head up into the mountains via Imlil, gaining height steadily through the Azzaden Valley before an acclimatisation day sets you up for the summit push. The views from the top take in the wider Atlas range and, on a clear day, toward the Sahara.
Past Toubkal the trip quietens down, crossing the Tizi n'Ouanoums Pass to Lake Ifni and through the Imnane Valley, where Berber village life carries on much as it has for generations. You're guided throughout, with mules carrying the heavier loads, and nights split between mountain refuges, local guesthouses and a lakeside camp.
