Wild Atlantic Way | Ireland

Start & end in Dublin 10 days Up to 5

About this trip

This is a 10-day self-drive loop around Ireland, starting and ending in Dublin, that takes in the capital's history and pubs before heading out to the wild scenery of the Atlantic coast.

You'll cover a lot of ground — from the cliffs and peninsulas of the northwest down through Galway and the Burren to Kerry and Dingle, finishing with a stop in Cork on the way back.

It's a private, self-guided trip, so you're behind the wheel and setting your own pace, with the route doing the work of stringing together Ireland's coastal landmarks and a few proper cities along the way.

What you'll do

  • Explore Dublin's Phoenix Park, Temple Bar and Croke Park
  • Stand above the Slieve League cliffs near Donegal
  • Drive the Inishowen Peninsula and visit Westport and Galway
  • See the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher
  • Take in the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry
  • Browse Cork's English Market before returning to Dublin
Good to know
  • Self-drive and self-guided — you're navigating the route yourself
  • A private trip, so it's just you (and whoever you travel with), not a group
  • Ten days covers a lot of Ireland's coastline, so expect long driving stretches between stops
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want curated coastal highlights with free time to roam. Think twice if you need detailed local insights or prefer a slower pace.

  • Accommodation sorted in advance; you're not hunting for beds after long drives.
  • Sweet spot between structured itinerary and genuine downtime to explore at your own pace.
  • Communication from BTOURS is reliable; they keep you clued in throughout.
  • Reviews don't mention guide quality, food stops, or what actually happens during free time.
