About this trip
Eleven days across four Cape Verde islands, built around walking their volcanic and green landscapes with a local guide. You move between Santiago, Fogo, São Vicente and Santo Antão, each with its own character, from black volcanic slopes to steep, terraced valleys.
The pace centres on hiking and trekking rather than sightseeing from a bus, taking in natural parks, a UNESCO heritage site and a working rum distillery along the way.
It suits travellers who want to be outdoors and active most days, with guided walks through terrain that's rich in local wildlife and plant life rather than a beach-and-pool holiday.
