Dolomites Alta Via 1 (AV1) – Guided *TREK* (Most Inclusive)

Dobbiaco → Belluno 10 days Up to 10

About this trip

The Alta Via 1 is the classic hut-to-hut route through the Dolomites, and this trip covers it in full over 10 days with a guide leading the way. You walk south from Lago di Braies to Belluno, sleeping in mountain rifugios along the route rather than carrying camping gear or planning logistics yourself.

Expect long days on foot through limestone peaks, high passes, and alpine meadows, with sections that pass through old World War I terrain. It's a serious walking holiday rather than a gentle ramble — the reward is being deep in some of the most striking mountain scenery in Europe, with peaks like Lagazuoi, Civetta, and Pelmo as your daily backdrop.

Nights are spent in traditional rifugios, sharing rooms and meals with the group and other trekkers, which is very much part of the experience — simple, sociable, and close to the mountains rather than removed from them.

What you'll do

  • Walk the full Alta Via 1 from Lago di Braies to Belluno
  • Cross high alpine passes and meadows across the Dolomites
  • Pass through historic World War I mountain terrain
  • Sleep in traditional rifugios along the route
  • See Lagazuoi, Civetta, and Pelmo up close
  • Cover roughly 110-125 km of trail over the trek
Good to know
  • Aimed at fit, experienced hikers — this is a demanding multi-day trek, not a casual walk
  • You share rooms in mountain rifugios throughout, which means basic, communal alpine accommodation rather than private comfort
  • Fully guided, so route-finding and hut logistics are handled for you
