About this trip

Senegal sits at the western edge of Africa, with Mauritania to the north, Guinea-Bissau to the south and the Atlantic stretching out to the west. This trip starts in Dakar, the capital, then pushes beyond it to the quieter parts of the country most visitors miss.

You'll head north to Saint Louis, the former French colonial capital and now the country's cultural heart, and south towards Cap Skirring, known for its long, empty beaches.

It's a guided week built around contrast — a lively capital city followed by history, coastline and the slower rhythm of Senegal's less urban regions.

What you'll do

  • Explore Dakar, Senegal's capital and usual arrival point
  • Visit Saint Louis, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former colonial capital
  • Spend time on the quiet beaches around Cap Skirring
  • Get a feel for Senegal's less-visited, sparsely populated regions
Good to know
  • Fully guided group trip, suited to travellers who want the culture and coastline beyond Dakar as well as the city itself
