About this trip

Two days out of Athens to see two of mainland Greece's biggest historical draws: Delphi and Meteora.

You get the archaeological site of Delphi, once considered the centre of the ancient world, then head north to the rock towers of Meteora, where monasteries have been built into the cliffs for centuries.

A guide-led trip with the history explained on the ground rather than left for you to piece together.

What you'll do

  • Explore the archaeological site of Delphi, including the Temple of Apollo
  • See the rock-tower monasteries of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site
  • Travel with a local guide who explains the sites' history
  • Covers two of mainland Greece's most significant historical locations
Good to know
  • Short two-day format, so expect a fair amount of travel time between sites
  • Suits families and anyone wanting a history-focused rather than beach-focused trip
