About this trip
This week takes you from the noise of Bangkok up into the quieter hills of northern Thailand, ending in the Golden Triangle. You get a proper contrast between the two sides of the country in a short space of time.
After a couple of days taking in Bangkok's capital-city pace, you head north to Chiang Mai and spend four days working your way through to Chiang Rai. This stretch is the heart of the trip — old temples and monuments, forested landscapes, local food, and encounters with the region's wildlife.
It's run in a small group of up to eight, with an easy pace and partial guiding, so there's room to explore on your own terms as well as with the group.
