About this trip
Ten days across Bahia, starting in Salvador, one of Brazil's oldest cities, with its layered history and easy-going atmosphere. From there you head inland to the Chapada Diamantina National Park, a landscape of waterfalls, caves and mountains where the days are built around walking and swimming rather than sightseeing from a bus.
The park is the physical heart of the trip — you're in among rivers, lakes and cool waterfalls, with plenty of chances to swim. The trip winds down on the beaches of Morro de São Paulo, a slower, sit-and-recover finish after the trekking.
This is a private, partially guided trip pitched at a moderate pace, which makes it workable for families or small groups travelling together.
