About this trip
This is a tour through two islands in one trip, starting and ending in Olbia and covering the length of Sardinia before crossing by sea to Corsica.
You move through Sardinia's coast and interior first, taking in Cagliari, Oristano, Bosa, Alghero and the Emerald Coast, then head out to the Maddalena archipelago before crossing to French Corsica.
On Corsica the route runs from the walled town of Bonifacio up to Ajaccio, inland to Corte, and on to Bastia before the return crossing to Olbia — a lot of ground covered with a guide throughout.
What you'll do
- Explore Cagliari, Sardinia's capital, via Oristano
- Visit the coastal towns of Bosa, Alghero and Stintino
- Take a boat out to the Maddalena archipelago, including Maddalena and Caprera islands
- Cross by sea from Santa Teresa di Gallura to Bonifacio, Corsica's fortified southern town
- See Ajaccio, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the old university town of Corte
- Finish in Bastia before returning to Olbia
- Fast-paced — you change base most nights across two islands
