About this trip
Seven days from Milan taking in two of northern Italy's best-known landscapes: the lakes and the Dolomites. You'll move between them at a fair clip, with boat trips on the water and drives up into the mountains.
The first stretch covers Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Lake Garda, along with the towns of Como, Bergamo and Verona. From there the route heads into the Dolomites, through Canazei and the Fassa Valleys to Cortina, Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the alpine lakes and passes beyond.
The trip winds up via Merano, Bolzano and Trento, so you get a mix of lakeside towns, mountain scenery and a few proper cities along the way.
