About this trip
This is a week of cycling from Lisbon down through the Alentejo and Algarve to Sagres, following quiet trails rather than main roads. Expect lush countryside, dramatic cliffs, hidden beaches and a lot of that topaz-blue Atlantic alongside you.
You stay in traditional coastal villages along the way, part of the Rota Vicentina network that's been kept low-key by the independent businesses running it. It's a good route for slowing down and eating well rather than ticking off sights.
The ride ends in Sagres, a laid-back village known for rugged cliffs and golden beaches, a fitting place to stop pedalling.
