About this trip
Twelve days that take you from ancient sites on the Greek mainland to two of the Cyclades' best-known islands. You'll travel by coach between guided stops in Athens, Olympia, Mycenae and Meteora, taking in ruins, monasteries and museums along the way.
The second half of the trip slows down with two nights on Mykonos and three on Santorini, giving you proper time to explore, swim and watch the sunset rather than just pass through.
It's a straightforward mix of history and island life, with locally-guided tours doing the explaining and Greek seafood filling in the gaps.
What you'll do
- Guided tours of the Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens
- Visit the ancient site of Olympia, home of the original Olympic Games
- Explore the Mycenae archaeological site
- See the clifftop monasteries of Meteora
- Two nights on Mykonos and three on Santorini
- Fresh Greek seafood and island sunsets
- Coach-based tour with a lot of ground covered on the mainland before the island stretch
- Front-loaded with history and sightseeing, then more relaxed island time at the end
- Suits families and those who like guided context rather than independent exploring
Worth it if you want effortless coverage of Greece's highlights with a genuinely attentive guide. Think twice if you expect mid-range hotel comfort.
- Dimos actively checks on group members' wellbeing, texts from excursions, arranges priority access, and genuinely makes everyone feel cared for.
- You'll cover a lot of Greece efficiently in 12 days with logistics handled—ferries, buses, tickets—so no logistical stress on your part.
- Hotels are budget tier; rooms barely used, but worth knowing if you value sleep quality over itinerary breadth.
- Guide offers genuine local knowledge—hidden gems, historical context, eating recommendations—that transforms generic sightseeing into real cultural understanding.
