About this trip
This is a cycling tour through the south of France, following the Canal du Midi past vineyards, olive groves and medieval villages. The pace is gentle rather than sporty, with plenty of stops to explore along the way.
You'll take in Cathar castles, old ramparts and grand chateaux, as well as the walled city of Carcassonne and the clifftop village of Minerve. It's as much about the history and scenery as the cycling itself.
Food and drink are a big part of it too, with chances to try regional wines, cheeses and pastries in local cafes and at a family-owned chateau.
