Bangkok → Chiang Mai 15 days Up to 18

About this trip

A 15-day loop through Thailand built for people travelling solo, covering city, jungle, mountains and islands with a set group and a leader the whole way.

You start in Bangkok, head south to the beaches around Krabi and Phi Phi, then loop up through the rainforest at Khao Sok and the laid-back hills of Pai before finishing in Chiang Mai.

It's designed to take the stress out of solo travel — everything from airport pickup to daily logistics is handled, and you're grouped with others in the same boat, so you end up with a set of travel companions by the end.

What you'll do

  • Explore Bangkok's streets and markets
  • Island time on the beaches of Krabi and Phi Phi
  • Listen for monkeys on a jungle stay in Khao Sok rainforest
  • Soak up the laid-back atmosphere of Pai
  • Internal flight up to Chiang Mai
  • Travel with a fixed small group and local guides throughout
Good to know
  • Twin/double share accommodation, so expect to room with another traveller on the trip
  • Most people join solo, so it suits those happy to travel independently but with company
  • Fast-paced overall — you cover a lot of ground between coast, jungle and mountains in two weeks
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want Thailand properly coordinated with genuine group camaraderie. Think twice if you need flexibility—the itinerary is packed and tightly managed.

  • Guide Jamie consistently went above and beyond: organised surprise birthday cakes, managed a chaotic group of 18 effortlessly, and made everyone feel genuinely included regardless of language or experience.
  • Itinerary balances structured experiences you couldn't coordinate alone with genuine downtime—Phi Phi's full day to unwind breaks up the pace, and group bonding was real enough that reunions are already being planned.
  • Tour is densely packed with activities and early starts; reviews mention 'melting in the heat' and exhaustion, so expect long days rather than leisurely exploration.
  • Group of 18 works well here, but success hinges heavily on guide quality—Jamie's energy and organisation made the trip; different leadership could shift the experience significantly.
