About this trip
Seven days covering Cape Town to Addo, this trip strings together the Western Cape and Garden Route's big draws in one fast-moving route. You'll pass through Cape Point, the Cape Winelands, Oudtshoorn, Wilderness, Tsitsikamma and Jeffreys Bay, with plenty of coastline, wildlife and wine along the way.
It's a combo of three small-group tours (max 25 per vehicle) rather than one continuous trip, so expect the guide and sometimes the vehicle to change as you move between sections. Days are long, with driving distances up to 500km, and the pace is built for people who want to see a lot rather than linger.
What you'll do
- Visit Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope
- Taste your way through the Cape Winelands
- Explore Oudtshoorn and the Garden Route towns of Wilderness and Tsitsikamma
- Spend time in Jeffreys Bay, known for its surf
- Go on a safari-style game drive in an open-roof vehicle
- Swim in the Indian Ocean along the southeastern coast
- Fast-paced — you're on the road most days, averaging 200-500km and 3-6 hours of driving
- Not suitable for children under 10, and those 10-17 must travel with an adult
- Game drives are shared with other groups at the reserve, and wildlife sightings (including leopards, which are rarely seen in this region) can't be guaranteed

Your free day in Cape Town

Worth it if you value diverse landscapes, wildlife and wine with a strong guide. Think twice if you need hands-on activities and dislike long driving days.
- Guide quality makes or breaks it: Dylan, Isaac, Denver and TK consistently praised for knowledge, charm and keeping groups engaged.
- Garden Route section is heavy on driving, light on activities: 5 days yielded mostly car time with minimal walking or exploration.
- Comfort package pricing poor value: $1000 upgrade for accommodations actually costing $600 if booked independently; few meals included.
- Addo Safari in van rather than open-air jeep limits wildlife viewing experience despite good accommodation quality there.
