About this trip
Nineteen days across Mexico, Guatemala and Belize, moving from the Caribbean coast at Playa del Carmen to the colonial streets of Antigua, with island time, jungle and highlands in between.
You'll shift pace often — beach days in Caye Caulker, a walk through the jungle at Tikal, a cruise along Rio Dulce, and market wandering in the Guatemalan Highlands. Lake Atitlan and the volcano views around Antigua round things out.
Travel is a mix of private and public transport, which keeps things authentic but means some legs are basic and border crossings need a bit of patience.
