About this trip
Three days from Marrakech into the Sahara, travelling by private vehicle over the Atlas Mountains and out to the dunes. You cover a lot of ground — mountain passes, kasbahs, film studios, desert camp — with someone else doing the driving and planning.
The route takes you over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, through Ait Benhaddou and Ourzazate, down the old caravan road of the Draa Valley, and finally onto a camel for the ride into Erg Chebbi, where you spend the night at a desert camp.
