Everest gokyo lake trek

This 14-day trek takes you into the Everest region to the Gokyo Lakes, a chain of six turquoise glacial lakes that mirror Everest, Lhotse and Cho Oyu on clear days. It's a quieter alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp route, with fewer crowds but equally big views.

You'll fly into Lukla, trek through Sherpa villages, and spend time acclimatising in Gokyo before the big push up Gokyo Ri for panoramic mountain views. The route also crosses Renjo La, one of the three high passes in the region, on the way back.

Expect long days at altitude, basic teahouse lodgings, and a genuine sense of remoteness — this is a proper mountain trek, not a stroll.
