About this trip
This trek takes you into the Khumbu region on foot, following the classic route through Sagarmatha National Park to Everest Base Camp itself. It's a proper high-altitude walk, not a stroll, with extra free days built in around Kathmandu to ease the schedule.
You'll pass through Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, visit Tengboche Monastery, and watch the landscape shift from rhododendron forest to high glacial valley. The reward is standing at Kalapatthar, 5,545 metres up, looking straight at Everest's summit.
It's as much about Himalayan life as the mountain itself — prayer flags, mani stones, teahouse hospitality, and days shaped by altitude rather than mileage.
What you'll do
- Trek through Sagarmatha National Park to Everest Base Camp
- Stop at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche on the way up
- Visit Tengboche Monastery
- Reach Kalapatthar at 5,545m for close-up views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam
- Extra free days in Kathmandu built into the schedule
- Moderate-rated but this is a high-altitude trek — expect long walking days and thinner air as you climb
- Fully guided in a small group
- Extra free days in Kathmandu are built in, useful for acclimatising or recovering from delays
Worth it if you're fit enough for high altitude and value guide quality above all. Think twice if you need budget accommodation or dislike early starts.
- Guides consistently named as exceptional: knowledgeable, motivating, adaptable to individual pace and fitness levels.
- Food, accommodation, and logistics handled smoothly; office communication via Ganga described as second to none throughout.
- Weather delays occur; company accommodates changes well, but flexibility suggests some days lost to conditions.
- Solo travellers may end up with private guide instead of group trek; still excellent service but affects group dynamics.
