Everest Base Camp Trek

Start & end in Kathmandu 15 days Up to 20

About this trip

This is the classic walk into the Khumbu, following the Dudh Koshi valley up through Namche Bazaar and on to Everest Base Camp itself. You're on foot for most of it, climbing steadily through changing landscapes and thinner air, with the world's highest peaks in view for much of the route.

Along the way you pass through Sherpa villages, rhododendron forest and high-altitude settlements, with time to take in Tyangboche Monastery and the Sagarmatha National Park. The trek builds gradually to Gorak Shep and Kala Patthar before you retrace your steps back down to Lukla.

It's a fully guided group trek over 15 days, rated moderate but with real altitude to contend with — this is as much about pace and patience as fitness.

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value attentive guides and seamless logistics. Think twice if you need flexibility with flights—weather delays happen.

  • Guides Kumar, Siri, and Raj consistently praised for safety knowledge, friendliness, and going genuinely out of their way.
  • Owner Gokul's personal attention to detail and responsiveness—handles last-minute changes gracefully and speaks Spanish fluently.
  • Flight delays to Lukla are real; reviewers advise booking changeable return tickets due to weather unpredictability.
  • Pre-trek Kathmandu orientation and hotel stays handled well, but landing in Lukla itself is described as genuinely unusual.
