Everest Base Camp short Trek

Start & end in Kathmandu 13 days Up to 12

About this trip

This trek takes you into the Khumbu, the region that's drawn climbers and walkers since the 1920s, on a shortened route built for people in good health who want to reach Everest Base Camp without the longer classic itinerary.

You fly into Lukla and follow the Dudh Koshi valley through small villages, monasteries and prayer-flagged bridges, climbing gradually towards Namche Bazaar before pushing on to Gorak Shep and the high point at Kala Patthar.

Evenings are spent in teahouses, often gathered round a fire with other trekkers, and the trip also gives you a proper look at Sherpa culture and daily life in the high Himalaya, not just the mountain views.

What you'll do

  • Fly into Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport to start the trek
  • Follow the Dudh Koshi river through Phakding, Monjo and Jorsale
  • Explore Namche Bazaar, a historic Sherpa trading town
  • Acclimatise before continuing on to Gorak Shep
  • Climb Kala Patthar (5,545m) for views of Everest, Nuptse, Pumori and Lhotse
  • Cross prayer-flag-covered suspension bridges through Sagarmatha National Park
Good to know
  • High-altitude trek at a moderate pace, best suited to those in good physical health
  • Itinerary includes dedicated acclimatisation time rather than straight climbing days
  • Fully guided throughout, with teahouse stays and shared evenings with the group
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want guides who genuinely care and logistical polish. Think twice if you need shorter daily distances or prefer smaller groups.

  • Guides (especially Avishek) actively manage individual needs and go physical miles—literally carrying sick trekkers.
  • Owner Deepak's fast WhatsApp responses and personal hotel meet-up set the tone for attentive service throughout.
  • Groups of 20 trek together covering many miles daily; logistically tight, potentially exhausting for anxious first-timers.
  • Tea and hot drinks provided 4–6 times daily; unlimited refreshments become a concrete perk, not just nicety.
