Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek (Poon hill trek, Annapurna sunrise view trek)

This is a shorter Annapurna region trek built around one big payoff: sunrise from Poon Hill, with the Himalayas laid out in front of you. It suits people who want a genuine mountain walking holiday without committing to weeks on the trail.

You start with the drive to Pokhara and on to Nayapool, then walk up through the forests around Ulleri, climbing steadily through Gurung and Magar villages. The early morning push to Poon Hill (3,210m) before dawn is the centrepiece, timed so you're there as the light hits the peaks.

The route can finish out via Ghandruk, a well-known Gurung village, or return the way you came, giving some flexibility on pace and scenery.
