Nairobi To Nairobi (20 Days) Gorillas & Gameparks

Twenty days across three East African countries, covering some of the region's best-known gameparks and the chance to trek for mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You'll take in soda and freshwater lakes rich in birdlife, the Virunga Mountains, and long overland stretches between one park and the next.

This runs as a participatory overland trip in one of the operator's yellow expedition trucks — you're not a passenger being driven around, you're part of the crew, taking turns with shopping, cooking and camp chores alongside a group of up to 24 travellers and two crew.

Alongside the wildlife and gorilla trekking there's quad biking, kayaking and whitewater rafting worked in, so it's as much an active overland adventure as it is a safari.
