About this trip
This trip takes you across a wide sweep of France in just eight days, starting in Paris and moving through the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, the Pyrenees, and down into the south before looping back north through Burgundy and Alsace.
You will pass through Tours, Bordeaux, Lourdes, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Provence, Lyon, Dijon, Colmar, Strasbourg and Epernay before returning to Paris, taking in medieval towns, wine regions, and classic French cities along the way.
It is a whistle-stop route built around variety rather than lingering, with a mix of guided moments and free time as you move from region to region.
What you'll do

- Take in Bordeaux's UNESCO-listed old town
- Walk the medieval ramparts of Carcassonne
- Visit Arles, Les Baux and Avignon in Provence
- See Colmar's half-timbered old town in Alsace
- Sip Champagne in Epernay
- This is a fast-moving route covering a large stretch of France in eight days, so expect frequent travel days and short stops rather than time to settle in
