Road to Casablanca

Start & end in Casablanca 9 days Up to 24

About this trip

Nine days across Morocco, from Casablanca down to the Sahara and back up through the imperial cities. It's a proper loop — desert, mountains, medinas and Roman ruins all in one trip.

You'll ride camels into the dunes and sleep at a Berber camp under the stars, then spend your days wandering kasbahs, medinas and old imperial capitals. It's a group tour with a guide throughout, so the history and logistics are taken care of.

Expect a good mix of culture, history and landscape rather than one single focus — Morocco's cities, its desert, and its past all get a look in.

What you'll do

  • Ride camels into the Sahara dunes and camp overnight with Berbers
  • Wander the ancient kasbah of Ait Benhaddou
  • Explore Marrakech's streets and squares
  • Get lost in Fes's medieval medina, the largest of its kind
  • Walk the Roman ruins at Volubilis
  • Pass through imperial Meknes and coastal Rabat
Good to know
  • Covers a lot of ground in nine days, moving between cities, mountains and desert
  • Rated easy, so no demanding physical activity involved
  • Fully guided throughout
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want a well-organised introduction to Morocco with standout guides. Think twice if hotel consistency matters—some riads are genuinely poor, and noise is a recurring issue.

  • Guides like Aziz, Abdul, Hicham, and Jamal are genuinely exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, fun, and integral to the trip.
  • Hotel quality is wildly inconsistent: Hotel Diwane was noisy and poor location; Fes riad had leaking shower and prayer call noise; multiple hotels reported excessive noise at night.
  • Food repetitive (too many chicken tagines) and portions oversized; water and soft drinks not included despite meals being included.
  • City tours in Marrakesh included high-pressure shops; limited free time to explore medinas independently at your own pace.
