About this trip
Seven days split between El Calafate and El Chaltén, covering the two big Patagonian draws: the Perito Moreno Glacier and the hiking trails around Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
You'll spend time in Los Glaciares National Park taking in the glacier before moving on to El Chaltén, Argentina's trekking capital, for days out on the trails beneath its two most recognisable peaks.
It's a straightforward pairing of glacier sightseeing and mountain hiking, run on a private, partially guided basis so there's some flexibility in how each day unfolds.
What you'll do
- Visit the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park
- Hike the trail toward Fitz Roy
- Hike the trail toward Cerro Torre
- Base yourself in El Chaltén, Patagonia's hiking hub
- Take in glacier and mountain scenery across both locations
- Private and partially guided, so some sections are on your own
- Built around two full hiking days, so you'll want a reasonable fitness level
- Runs over Christmas and New Year, which is peak season in Patagonia
