About this trip
Six days across northern Vietnam, moving from the old streets of Hanoi to the rice terraces of Pu Luong and out onto the water at Halong Bay.
You start in the capital, taking in a city that still holds onto its old-quarter charm despite the modern pace, then head into the hills where terraced paddies and hill tribe villages give a look at traditions that have barely changed in generations.
The trip closes on Halong Bay, cruising among the limestone islets that rise out of the sea, a fitting last stretch after the rural pace of Pu Luong.
