About this trip
Three weeks across Ecuador and Peru, moving from Andean highlands to Amazon rainforest to Inca ruins. You get a proper spread of landscapes and cultures rather than sticking to one region, with time in cities, mountains, market towns and jungle.
The route starts in Quito's colonial old town, then heads through the Andes to Quilotoa's crater lake, Baños and the Otavalo market, before dropping into the Cuyabeno rainforest for wildlife spotting. From there it's on to Peru — Lima, Cuzco and finally Machu Picchu.
It's a full itinerary with a lot of ground covered, suited to travellers who want variety over three weeks rather than settling into one place.
