About this trip
This week moves through the Ecuadorian Andes, starting in Quito's historic centre and finishing among the cloud forest wildlife of Mindo, with volcanoes, markets and crater lakes in between.
Days are built around walking and hiking, from the trails around Cotopaxi volcano to the crater rim above Quilotoa's turquoise lake, so there's a fair bit of activity at altitude.
It's a guided small-group trip with a moderate pace, suited to travellers who want varied Andean scenery without a fast-changing itinerary.
